Larry Altgilbers, Ph.D.
Dr. Altgilbers has been a sponsor and supporter of the SBIR Program for many years. He has worked to see that Phase IIIs go to small businesses. He is part of the Army SMDC at Redstone Arsenal where his research is in Directed Energy. This has transitioned to Phase III acquistions of SBIR companies. He is ill and should be recognized for his contributions to SBIR companies.

Dr. Altgilbers is a strong advocate for the SBIR program. Since 1983, he has written one or more topics per year, expertly managing Phase I, II, and III contracts for the winning contractors. Over half his SBIR contractors have went on to win multiple SBIR awards, have successfully transitioned their technologies, have won Phase III contracts, have received Army SBIR Achievement Awards or Tibbetts awards, and/or have been [very profitably] acquired by large defense contractors. Dr. Altgilbers is definitely an advocate of the SBIR program, having successfully injected SBIR-developed technologies into many DOD programs.
