The ENSER Corporation
The ENSER Corporation is a Veteran Owned Small Disadvantaged Business. ENSER was chartered in the State of Alabama in 1989. The initial lines of business were in engineering services and metal fabrication. In 1993 ENSER established its battery-based power systems line of business. Also, in 1993 ENSER entered into a DoD Mentor-Protégé Program agreement with the Westinghouse Electronics Systems Group. Subsequently, Westinghouse ESG became part of the Northrop Grumman Corporation. Primary support from Northrop Grumman under the Mentor-Protégé Program was in business development and battery technology transfer and training. ENSER continued another two terms in the Mentor-Protégé Program with Raytheon Missile Systems. The Raytheon support was in business systems, manufacturing systems and mechanical modeling. ENSER is the only Protégé to be a three time winner of the DoD Mentor-Protégé Nunn-Perry Award.
In 1996 ENSER was selected to assume ownership and responsibility for a Department of Energy thermal battery operation in Largo, Florida. The transition of this entity occurred in February 1997. Along with this capability, ENSER inherited more than two decades of a proud tradition with an outstanding record of design, development, and manufacture of thermal batteries and battery packs. In 1998, ENSER acquired the intellectual property and production capability that was part of the Northrop Grumman Operation in Cleveland, Ohio. Key members of the Cleveland technical staff joined ENSER in that time frame. ENSER has an aggressive engineering and technology development thrust to ensure that its batteries are designed to optimize the power source needs of weapon systems. Manufacturing excellence is derived from meticulous process control and continuous improvement of those processes. ENSER’s Quality System is certified to ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100:2004.
