WINNER: Tibbetts Award
Founded in 1985, Vida Health Communications, Inc. (Vida) specializes in producing quality health education media with a focus on clinical training and patient education. Vida drives measureable outcomes across the health care spectrum through innovative learning designs that inform and empower decision-making by health care providers and their patients. Utilizing a strength-based approach to learning coupled with the “right” technologies, Vida’s solutions engage learners in ways that support and reinforce their abilities to implement healthy behavior changes.
Vida is currently focusing on launching a new NIH funded intervention designed to prevent child abuse in the first year of life. "All Babies Cry" is meant to be introduced to parents as part of bedside education during maternity stays. State Departments of Public Health or Social Services are the likely adopters of the "All Babies Cry" campaign, which incorporates the protective factors of the Strengthening Families initiative and empowers new mothers and fathers with practical demonstrations of infant soothing and clear strategies for managing normal stress in parenting. The intervention satisfies mandates to educate about pediatric abusive head trauma.
